Ramblings.

I didn't write last night. AGAIN. Aaron has been working like 17 hour days (not actually exaggerating on that one) shooting the U.S. Green Building Conference in Phoenix this week and I've seen him for about 3 seconds in the morning when he kisses me goodbye and I mumble something that should sound like "Bye, have a good day" but comes out more like, "mumphbagadah" and then for about 2 minutes at night before he sits down to unload the pictures off his camera and I crawl into bed to recover from whatever Wes saw fit to inflict on me that particular day.

So when he got home early yesterday and suggested we spend the evening snuggled on the couch watching movies I shut down the computer and popped some popcorn and remembered what it was like to have a husband who is around sometimes (it's nice!).

We watched G.I. Joe and Transformers 2, which leads me to-

People I never ever want to hear about or from ever again. Seriously just go away:

Megan Fox (a. lay off the self tanner. b. no one wants to hear how hot you think you are). Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag (WHO are you again?? WHY do people care?).
The Gosselins (I actually had to LOOK UP your last name because I couldn't remember. That's how little I care to hear about your stupid divorce and whatever other issues).

Also, I think I am nesting. With Wes it was the nursery that I spent hours and hours lovingly painting and assembling and fretting over. With Baby 2 it's canning. All of a sudden I'm like, "MUST. CAN. EVERYTHING." This week I did peach preserves and applesauce. I have plans for apple butter and chicken and after that, WHO KNOWS.

P.S. Locals, some varieties of apple are $1 a pound at Fry's. You know, in case you get a crazy urge to can tons of applesauce. Apparently chicken is on sale there this week as well. In case you need to can a whole bunch of chicken. Be prepared!

Also, I think all my cold weather clothes moved back to Provo without me. It was 57 degrees this morning which, for Mesa, is a little on the chilly side. So I was like, "I'll put on some warm clothes and Wes and I can go outside and feel like it's really legitimately Fall!" Except then I looked in my closet and I apparently no longer own any long sleeved shirts or sweaters. I swear I had a ton back in the days of yore with the ice and snow and what not but they are missing. And I mourn them.

AND on that note I'm going to put on my flip flops and go buy more apples. The canner is calling.

WHY do we not live close to each other? I would seriously just come live on the bar stools in your kitchen. I'd even peel apples.

Ok, everyone I tell thinks I'm gross for this, but maybe this time will be the winner? We can trout the same way you can chicken and use it to make trout patties (an egg, some crackers, some seasoning all grilled up). So, you know, if anyone in your family fishes or if fish fillets are on sale at Fry's...

I've wanted to make apple butter for SO LONG. When I lived in New England we used to go pick apples in New Hampshire and we'd come home with like 287lbs of apples and cider and the most delicious apple butter. You may have inspired me to finally do it.

Janssen- I would name a child after you if you would come peel apples for me. It's such a pain that I didn't even bother doing it with this batch of applesauce and it was even MORE of a pain sifting out the skins later.

Kimberly- Nasty. We don't do fish anyway, but canned fish? Gag. Sorry :)

Shawna- do it!!
