Taco Tote: Yet Another Plug

Me and Chino in June of '06

In Rocky Point, Mexico there is this street vendor named Chino who makes The World's Best Tacos. I kid you not, this man's tacos are the things dreams are made of. They are authentic. They are fattening. They are amazing. Aaron and my dad would crawl on bloody stumps (probably not an image you want associated with food, but...) across the border for them.

Recently, my dad discovered Taco Tote and realized their tacos are dang close to Chino's magical creations. He went something like 5 times in the week he first discovered this place (it is located fortuitously close to the office) and he then took my husband, who then hooked his entire office. Aaron finally took me there this weekend and I'm a believer.

So, those who are local (or in Texas or New Mexico..there are a few locations. Check their website) need to head on over to Taco Tote on Southern and Country Club (north west corner by El Pollo Loco and Wendys). Order the steak stuffed quesadilla then go to the salsa bar and throw on some guacamole mixed with with some pico, add a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt and indulge. You will probably be one of the only white people there, which you know means it's good. Say hi to my dad for me.

You mean that's NOT your dad in the photo?:P Who the heck IS that guy? Is that the Rocky point guy or the Taco Tote guy? I'll have to give it a whirl...and NO "bloody stumps" is not something that makes me want to run to Taco Tote!:P

That sounds so good...a steak quesadilla!! I am so hungry, want to go right now??!! I can't wait to try it. Tempe just opened a Cronic Taco on Mill, they are from Cali and Kent is dying-- it's his favorite place to eat when we go over there.
