We read The Tale of Three Trees on Christmas Eve every year. This is a slightly more recent tradition in that I can kind of remember when it started ('96 or '97, maybe?). You've probably heard the story since it's a folktale, but it's about 3 trees with grand ambitions living on a hill top. All three are cut down and carried away for purposes that weren't quite what they had in mind, but all end up serving much greater purposes than they could have imagined. It's a beautiful story and this particular edition has really beautiful illustrations. It's a nice short read with a wonderful Christmas message.

K...how many books do you expect us readers go buy, Kayla? We are a busy a family and you keep posting all these great ideas and traditions and I can't keep up!!! {adds another book to the to-buy list} Geesh!!! :P
