SD

Just got back from a lovely little vacation to San Diego with my whole fam. Highlights included:

The beach. Obviously.

Getting free tiramisu. We ate at this awesome pizzeria on Sunday night and after we started eating this guy sat down two tables away. At which point Wes went into absolute raptures over the pizza crusts we were feeding him (it was like that dinner scene in What About Bob) and then made total googly eyes at the guy while trying to mooch his pizza. As it turns out, the guy was the owner and he decided that Wes needed free tiramisu. Sign. us. up.

As per usual, the best part of vacation is pretty much always the food. Except for a Sea World lunch, we ate ridiculously well.

I saw Shamu! Which, by the way, did you know that "Shamu" is just a stage name given to whatever whale is performing? There's no actual Shamu. Which seems like a sham to me. A Shamu sham.

Speaking of Shamu, the "Believe" show is awesome as long as you are only paying attention to the whales. The show itself is ridiculous as it talks about "two species who are trying at their very core to become one." Which, I don't know a lot about whales, but I'm pretty sure the human half of the equation is the only one having any thoughts about becoming one. The whale is thinking, "fishfishfishfishfishfish".

At one point Wes ran down the hall of the hotel yelling, "Boppa Boppa Boppa!" Which is his recently acquired word for "grandpa." And it was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Shawna Cozens (and Boyfriend!) came with us to Sea World AND the zoo.

And HOLY CRAP THE WEATHER. When you live in Arizona you sometimes forget that, in most places, summer is the time when people GO OUTSIDE. It was all very novel and wonderful and amazing and sometimes I even needed a sweater.

Amen, I think the highlights of my vacations are always the food. And usually that I am not the one preparing it. Glad you had a great trip.
